About Dr. Badley

Dr. Badley was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada and earned his B.S. degree in 1985 from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He also received his M.D. degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1990. He did his residency training in internal medicine at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. He completed further training at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota as a Clinician Investigator Trainee, Infectious Diseases in 1997. During this time, Dr. Badley received Dr. J. Geraci award for excellence in Infectious Diseases in June of 1997 and the ICAAC/ASM Young Investigator Award in September of 1997.

Dr. Badley joined the staff of Ottawa Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in 1997 as an Assistant Professor and in 2002 was promoted to an Associate Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases. In 2002, Dr. Badley returned to the Mayo Clinic as a consultant in Infectious Diseases and moved his successful research laboratory to Mayo Clinic. Dr. Badley currently is a Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, Associate Director for the Translational Program in Immunovirology and Biodefense Program, and Director of the Mobile Unit of Mayo Clinic Research Unit (CRU).
