Postdoctoral Position - Division of Biomedical Statistics and Informatics

Mayo Clinic (http://www.mayo.edu) in Rochester, Minnesota (www.macc-rochester.com) is seeking a postdoctoral candidate with a Ph.D. in statistics or biostatistics and training in statistical genetics. Mayo Clinic is a world-class health care organization, with cutting-edge genetic research programs. The Division of Biomedical Statistics and Informatics (BSI) includes more than 280 experts in biostatistics, bioinformatics, and clinical informatics. Our scientists work collaboratively with basic and clinical researchers, providing analytical and interpretative expertise to enable or validate discoveries with high impact on patient care. BSI also leads the development of statistical and informatics methodologies to provide novel approaches to analyze biomedical data.

The successful candidate will work with Dr. Joanna Biernacka on the development and evaluation of statistical methods for genetic studies of complex human traits, as well as providing statistical expertise for ongoing studies in genomics of addiction.

Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. degree in statistics, biostatistics, or a closely aligned quantitative area, with strong statistical training and computer programming skills. Preference will be given to candidates with background in statistical genetics. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. The position is available immediately, and can be either 1 or 2 years in duration.
