The Division of Biomedical Statistics and Informatics (BSI) in the Department of Health Sciences Research, Mayo Clinic (http://www.mayo.edu) in Rochester, Minnesota (www.macc-rochester.com) is seeking a bioinformatics Research Associate (RA) with a Ph.D. in bioinformatics or biology/biochemistry with significant bioinformatics experience. The RA in this position will collaborate with Mayo researchers in studies conducted using genomics/proteomics/metabolomics as well as high throughput sequencing technologies. Requirements for the position include programming skills (R and/or SAS), familiarity with data analysis software (Partek, Ingenuity/MetaCore, Genome Studio), and experience in at least one of the following data types: expression microarray, proteomics, array CGH or SNP chips for copy number variation, and next generation sequencing.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of Dr. Jean-Pierre Kocher, Chair of BSI, and with other BSI scientists. Preference will be given to candidates who have excellent written and oral communication skills, an in depth understanding of the biological questions, and are good team players. The position is available immediately and can be renewed yearly.
