Summary

Ongoing Project (Breast In Vivo Imaging)
The goal of this study is to evaluate the performance of vibro-acoustography in detecting breast lesions in women by vibro-acoustography. Recently, a vibro-acoustography system has been developed for in vivo breast imaging. This system is integrated in a clinical sterotactic mammography machine (Fischer Imaging Inc., MammotestTM system). The combined system is designed in such a way that it enables us to produce matching (from the same view angle) vibro-acoustography and mammography images of human breast. It is ongoing research, and so far it has been done on 16 patients and 5 normal volunteers with promising results. VAP013 and VAP016 are images of this project.
